BLUES TOWN

Words and music by Arno Tietje

Blues town, what I call you is blues town
Sad town seems I'm always wearing a frown when I'm walkin' around
Blues town beat me up and put me down
Lonely town sun at my back and eyes to the ground
but it's where I'm bound

I remember how it used to be
with my girl walkin' next to me
I always thought she'd be my destiny you see
I remember how it was before
when the future seemed an open door
Frozen in time forevermore for me

Blues town was a tapestry of sight and sound
Home town all your memories tie me down, some lost never to be found
Blues town, everybody's got a blues town
Break the bonds of the chains that hold you down
to a dead dream gagged and bound

BLUES SHACK
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SITTING AROUND ON A SUNDAY MORNING
READING THE PAPER WITH MY MORNING COFFEE
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
THAN TO SPEND THIS MORNING WITH YOU
THE SUN IS SHINING THROUGH THE OPEN WINDOW
THE CAT IS ASLEEP AND THE DOG'S IN THE YARD
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
THAN TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH YOU
MAYBE LATER WE COULD GO FOR A RIDE IN THE PARK
MAYBE WE'LL DO SOMETHING DARING AND STAY OUT AFTER DARK
BUT NOW WE'RE SITTING AROUND ON A SUNDAY MORNING
READING THE PAPER WITH OUR MORNING COFFEE
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
THAN TO SPEND THESE HOURS WITH YOU
